Harmony Atlantic

Compassion. Connection. Clarity.

Offering counselling therapy in person in Bedford and at Coral Cove Wellness Centre, as well as online across Nova Scotia.

It’s easy to lose sight of yourself when life becomes a series of reactions. Healing is the restoration of internal peace, weaving together the wisdom of who you’ve always been with the lightness of who you are becoming.

Cultivate kindness towards yourself and your experiences.

Connection

Build deeper relationships with yourself and others.

Clarity

Gain insight and understanding into your inner world.

Working with April

I believe healing begins when we stop trying to fix who we are and start listening to what our struggles are trying to tell us - allowing us to both remember our inherent strength and embrace the potential of our unfolding story.

This perspective is rooted in my own personal journey. I came to realize that of all the work we do in this life, the most meaningful connection any of us can make is with ourselves.

Space for You

Harmony Atlantic Office

We offer therapy in person in our cozy office on the Bedford Highway or online via a PIPEDA compliant secure platform. Whether meeting in person or through a secure screen, the goal is the same: a calm, confidential space where you can feel truly heard.

In our first session, we start exactly where you are. This time is yours to settle in and share what has been weighing on you, allowing us to begin our work together at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Together, we’ll explore the patterns that keep you feeling stuck or overwhelmed, bringing a gentle curiosity to your inner experience and honouring the parts of your story that brought you here.

Getting Started

Healing is a journey of returning to yourself, and you don't have to navigate the path alone. I am here to meet you exactly where you are and offer these simple steps to help you begin:

Step 1: Choose a Time

Access my live calendar through the secure portal to browse available openings. From there, you can select whether you’d like to meet in person or online for your initial 90-minute intake session.

Step 2: Create a Profile

Once you’ve chosen a time, you’ll receive a welcome email confirming your appointment. This message includes a link to our secure portal where we will manage scheduling and billing.

Step 3: Secure Your Appointment

Before we meet, you’ll find your intake forms waiting in the portal. Completing these in advance allows you to share your history in your own time and ensures we can spend our first session focusing entirely on you.

Common Questions

Initial Session (90 minutes) - $225
We begin our work together with an Initial Session (90 minutes). This allows us to explore your goals without feeling rushed. Moving forward, you can choose the session length that best supports your current needs:

The Standard Session (60 minutes) - $150
To ensure there is ample space for the work to unfold naturally, I offer full-length sessions rather than the traditional 50-minute hour.

The Extended Session (90 minutes) - $225
Beyond our first meeting, the 90-minute session is ideal if you are navigating a particularly heavy season or want to dive deeper into a specific area of exploration. Many clients also find that 60 minutes can go by very quickly once the work begins; the extra time ensures we can move thoroughly through your process without feeling the pressure of the clock.

I am a Registered Counselling Therapist-Candidate (RCT-C). Because every insurance plan is different, I recommend checking with your provider to ensure they cover services provided by an RCT-C.

Direct Billing: I offer direct billing for Medavie Blue Cross. For all other providers, I provide a detailed receipt that you can submit for reimbursement.

Fees are payable via e-transfer or credit card at the end of each session

I offer both. I see clients in person at my office at 1550 Bedford Highway, Suite 406, and I also provide virtual sessions for anyone living across Nova Scotia. Both formats provide the same compassionate space for our work together.

I believe that support should be accessible, so I reserve a limited number of sliding scale spots for clients experiencing financial hardship. If my standard fees are a barrier for you, please reach out via my contact form to check current availability and we can discuss.

There is no set timeline; some people find the clarity they need in a few months, while others prefer having an ongoing space for regular reflection. Most clients start with sessions once a week or every two weeks to build momentum. As you begin to feel more steady, we might move to every three weeks or once a month. We work at a pace that feels right for you.

Think of our sessions as a collaborative, low-pressure conversation. There is no "right way" to do therapy, and you don’t need to do anything to prepare before you arrive.

The Initial Meeting - We will begin with a 90-minute session focused on setting a comfortable, safe pace for our work together. This extended time is intentionally unhurried, designed specifically so you can share what is on your mind without feeling rushed. You’re always in the driver’s seat; we only go as deep as you feel ready to go.

A Mind-Body Approach - While we will certainly talk through what’s on your mind, we also pay attention to what’s happening in your body. When stress makes itself known through physical signals, we don't just ignore them. We slow down and listen, creating a safe space for those sensations to surface and tell us what they need.

The Atmosphere - This is a judgment-free zone where you don’t have to have it all figured out. Whether you show up with a specific goal or just a general sense of weariness, you can expect a space that is slow, intentional, and entirely yours. We’ll move together at a pace that feels sustainable for your system.

Not at all. You don’t need to be at a breaking point or in the middle of a crisis to deserve a dedicated space for yourself. In fact, therapy is often most helpful when life feels okay on the surface, but you can sense a quiet nudge that something is out of balance. Many people reach out because they feel weary of living in "reaction mode," or they simply want to move through their days with more intention and ease. Whether you are navigating a major life transition or just feeling the heavy hum of daily stress, this is a space to slow down, listen to what you are carrying, and reconnect with the person who has been there all along.

Absolutely. I use the Jane platform, which is a secure, PIPEDA/HIPAA-compliant system. Your intake forms, session notes, and booking details are all encrypted and private.

The easiest way is to click the Book a Session button. You can view my real-time availability and select a time that fits your schedule. If you have questions before booking, feel free to send me a note through the contact form.
